...NICHOLAS DISSIPATING...

SATELLITE DATA INDICATE THAT THE SURFACE CIRCULATION OF NICHOLAS IS
BECOMING ILL-DEFINED.

AT 5 PM AST...2100Z...THE CENTER OF THE DISSIPATING TROPICAL
DEPRESSION WAS LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 24.3 NORTH... LONGITUDE 56.8
WEST OR ABOUT 570 MILES...915 KM...NORTHEAST OF THE NORTHERN
LEEWARD ISLANDS.
 
THE DEPRESSION IS MOVING TOWARD THE NORTH NEAR 15 MPH
...24 KM/HR.  THE REMNANTS OF NICHOLAS ARE EXPECTED TO MOVE
NORTHWARD WITH SOME INCREASE IN FORWARD SPEED OVER THE NEXT 24
HOURS.
 
MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR  30 MPH... 45 KM/HR...WITH HIGHER
GUSTS.  THE REMNANTS OF NICHOLAS WILL CONTINUE TO GENERATE
OCCASIONALLY GUSTY WINDS IN SQUALLS OVER THE NEXT DAY OR SO.
 
ESTIMATED MINIMUM CENTRAL PRESSURE IS 1008 MB...29.77 INCHES.
