WESTWARD TOWARD THE CENTRAL LESSER ANTILLES...
 
AT 5 AM AST...0900 UTC...A TROPICAL STORM WATCH HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR
PUERTO RICO AND THE U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS.
 
A TROPICAL STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR DOMINICA.
 
A TROPICAL STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR ST. LUCIA.
 
TROPICAL STORM CONDITIONS ARE ALSO POSSIBLE BY THIS EVENING FOR
MARTINIQUE AND GUADELOUPE AND ADJACENT FRENCH ISLANDS...AND FOR
ANTIGUA...MONTSERRAT...ST KITTS AND NEVIS...AND FOR SABA AND
ST EUSTATIUS.
 
INTERESTS ELSEWHERE IN THE LESSER ANTILLES AND THE BRITISH VIRGIN
ISLANDS SHOULD CLOSELY MONITOR THE PROGRESS OF THIS SYSTEM.
 
AT 5 AM AST...0900Z...THE CENTER OF TROPICAL DEPRESSION SIX WAS
LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 14.0 NORTH...LONGITUDE  56.7 WEST OR ABOUT
200 MILES...320 KM...EAST-NORTHEAST OF BARBADOS. THIS IS ALSO 
ABOUT 280 MILES...450 KM...EAST OF MARTINIQUE.
 
THE DEPRESSION IS MOVING TOWARD THE WEST NEAR 23 MPH...37 KM/HR...
AND THIS MOTION IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE FOR THE NEXT 24 HOURS.
THIS MOTION COULD BRING THE CENTER OF THE TROPICAL CYCLONE THROUGH
THE LESSER ANTILLES BY LATE AFTERNOON OR EARLY EVENING TODAY.
 
MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR  35 MPH... 55 KM/HR...WITH HIGHER
GUSTS.  SOME STRENGTHENING IS FORECAST DURING THE NEXT 24 HOURS...
AND THE DEPRESSION COULD BECOME A TROPICAL STORM LATER TODAY BEFORE
IT REACHES THE LESSER ANTILLES. AN AIR FORCE RESERVE HURRICANE
HUNTER AIRCRAFT WILL INVESTIGATE THE CYCLONE THIS AFTERNOON.
 
THE ESTIMATED MINIMUM CENTRAL PRESSURE IS 1008 MB...29.77 INCHES.
 
LARGE AND DANGEROUS BATTERING WAVES...ACCOMPANIED BY ABOVE NORMAL
TIDES...MAY OCCUR IN THE LESSER ANTILLES NEAR AND TO THE NORTH OF
THE CENTER OF THE TROPICAL CYCLONE.
 
STORM TOTAL RAINFALLS OF 3 TO 6 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE IN ASSOCIATION
WITH THIS SYSTEM.
