Directions to the NHC

The National Hurricane Center is co-located with the National Weather Service Miami Forecast Office on the main campus of Florida International University at 11691 S.W. 17th Street, Miami, Florida. This location is about 12 miles west of downtown Miami and 8 miles southwest of Miami International Airport.

Directions to the National Hurricane Center

• Visitors may reach the National Hurricane Center from the Florida Turnpike (State Road 821).
• From the Florida Turnpike, take the SW 8^th Street exit (Tamiami Trail or 41) east.
• From SW 8^th Street turn south on SW 117^th Avenue, and follow south to SW 17^th Street.

The National Hurricane Center will be clearly visible on your left.

Visitor parking is available near the main entrance on the south side of the Center, which faces SW 17^th Street.
