Displaying NHC Data with GIS Software
The NWS is moving toward supporting more geographic information system (GIS)-based data. We are
taking this in measured steps because we want to
ensure quality and timeliness. The efforts by TPC are a part of this endeavor.
Various factors presently constrain further expansion; however, the NWS will continue to explore ways to provide
more GIS services. The public is also encouraged to provide feedback on GIS data formats.
