Tropical Depression Two formed from a tropical wave that crossed the west coast of Africa into the Atlantic Ocean on 6 June. Dvorak satellite classifications and visible satellite imagery indicate that the system developed a closed circulation and became a tropical depression around 0000 UTC 11 June. The depression moved quickly westward, about 17 kt, and the system's deep convection almost immediately became displaced to the northeast of the surface center. The depression was unable to maintain a closed circulation, and degenerated into an open wave about 825 n mi east-southeast of Barbados after 1800 UTC that day.
The best track positions and intensities for the depression are listed in Table 1.
